Q:What is the difference between industrial grade, antifreeze grade, andfiber grade?
A: Industrial grade meets general chemical reaction and solvent performance requirements, normally used for general chemical synthesis, solvents, ordinary antifreeze base fluids, etc.
Antifreeze grade requires a much low levels of corrosive ions, what can prevent corrosion of engine cooling systems (aluminum, copper, solder, etc.), making it a high-quality coolant/antifreeze suitable for automobiles, ships, and industrial equipment.
Fiber grade has a high purity and optical purity. Its low aldehyde can prevent poisoning of polyester catalysts, and high UV transmittance ensures good color and stable quality of the final products, such as PET bottles and fibers. Mainly used for producing polyethylene terephthalate (PET) for beverage bottles, polyester fibers, films, etc.
Q:Why is strictly sealing required during storage?
A: It has a strong hygroscopicity. Unsealing can lead to a decrease in product purity, deterioration of quality, and equipment corrosion.
Q: What are the toxic of ethylene glycol?
A: It's mainly oral toxicity, which requires strict prevention.
It's moderate toxicity, but its metabolites in the human liver (such as oxalic acid) are highly toxic and may cause kidney failure, central nervous system depression, and even be fatal. The toxic dose is about 1.5ml/kg for adults and much lower for children and pets.
